Christmas Gift Cards/Tags

Monday, September 29, 2008
At the weekend I started to make mine cards to be used as gift tags.  I don't have any pictures yet, but they are starting to look really cute.
I am putting together some promotional items that an other Etsy seller is going to include with her shipments.  I thought that this mini cards would be a good idea.

Hopefully it helps drive some traffic to my store, and I'll be able to make a couple of sales for the holidays.

I also made a bunch of full size Christmas cards, which I'll be taking pictures of and posting to my store over the next few days.

Cute Bunnies

While I was browsing through some blogs today and dropping my ECs I noticed these cute bunnies.

These bunnies are felted brooches, and I think they are adorable.

Technique:

My critters are sculpted through a process called Needle Felting. Needle felting is the process of taking raw wool roving and using a special barbed needle to sculpt it into shape. The sculpting is done by poking the wool fibers thousands of times until they interlock and felt together. This process is extremely time consuming.

I strive to make each miniature needle felted animal as realistic and detailed as possible. Each sculpture is an original One of a Kind (OOAK) work of art, created by artist K. Turple. Each creation is firmly felted and quite solid. I am confident you will be very pleased with your purchases, as I would never sell something that was not up to the standard of quality I strive to maintain. Every order will be carefully packaged to ensure a safe arrival, and comes from a smoke free home. Please remember that each needle felted sculpture is a delicate work of art and not intended to be a toy for young children. Each order will come with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, which will include a photograph of the miniature needle felted animal.

103 Days Till Christmas

Friday, September 12, 2008

Can you believe it?

We are 2/3rds of the way to Christmas already.

Christmas is my favourite holiday, not because of the gifts (but of course I like them too), but because its a time for family and friends. The past 3 years I've cooked Christmas dinner here in Portland for my friends who are also away from their families.

This year, for the first time since I moved to the USA, I am going to be spending time with my family, however, not in the UK, but in New Zealand. My cousin has had 2 babies in the past couple of years, and we are going to fly out there to visit for Christmas. I spent Christmas in New Zealand about 8 years ago when I was backpacking, and I loved it, even if it was a bit strange due to the fact that it was the middle of summer instead of winter :)

In preparation for Christmas I have made a few Christmas cards, which I have in my Etsy Store, I will of course be posting more between now and Christmas.

As Halloween is a little closer than Christmas, I also have some Halloween cards in my store.

Well, I really haven't been very good at keeping this lonely little blog updated.

I've been away for a few weeks, I went back home to the UK to visit family.

The past couple of days I've been busy with my store though, cleaning up photos and posting new items.

I've been busy knitting scarves as well as making some fall/autumn cards.
